Facebook and Instagram Shop – An alternative to Amazon’s Marketplace?
We have often mentioned it – online trade is booming, especially in the current situation.
Many stationary traders have had to restructure in recent months and move their goods to the net in order to be able to sell their goods even in the Covid-19 crisis.
If you as a retailer had no resources to create your own online shop, there was no way around the marketplace of the online giant Amazon.
Now Facebook also wants to become a contact point for online retailers and will launch Facebook shops on 19 May 2020. Retailers can now present and sell their goods via Facebook shops.
The user can then put goods into the shopping cart and also pay, without leaving the Facebook and Instagram environment .
In the near future, Facebook plans to add the ability to make purchases directly from a chat in WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct.
Facebook and Instagram Shop are now available in selected regions, including Germany.
The social media platform sees Facebook Shops as an opportunity to make the advertisements in the network even more valuable for partners.
