New DHL service points in 96 Migros stores in Switzerland

DHL is expanding its logistics network in Switzerland by enabling Swiss customers to both deliver and pick up parcels at Migros stores.

Through this cooperation, the company meets the increasing demands of customers who want to pick up and drop off their parcels faster and above all regardless of time and location.
In addition, DHL is also increasingly growing as a competitor to Swiss Post, which had already expanded access points. Packages can already be delivered and picked up in around 300 selected Migros branches for Swiss Post throughout Switzerland.

However, the expansion of DHL comes at a very bad time for Swiss Post – Swiss Post is currently clearly feeling the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
The number of visitors to the post offices has declined sharply during the crisis. A post office had between 20 and 40 percent fewer customers during the period, the company said.

In the meantime, around 140 branches throughout Switzerland had to remain closed in March, In some cases, opening hours had to be shortened.

In this Fireside Chat, we discuss #050 about the current situation in Switzerland and the adapted customer needs for parcel shippers.
